Places To Visit In Umm Al Quwain

1. UAQ National Museum

This 250 year ld monument was once the residence of the Royal family at the time known as the Umm Al Quwain Fort. It is now the official museum of the UAE. With a wide range of visitors from GCC expats to school field trips, this museum depicts the history of UAE in one beautiful fortress.

The museum hosts an invaluable collection of artefacts that are excavated from nearby sites. They take you back in time and help them to gain an understanding of the culture and heritage of UAE.

This fort was the residence of the local ruler from 1768 to 1969. The museum features a majlis, old Bedouin jewellery, and fancy weapons amongst other archaeological finds from Tel Abraq and Al Dour sites.

2. Falaj Al Mualla

Located just 30kms off the centre of Umm Al Quwain city, Falaj Al Mualla is an old town built in the 19th century that is most well known for its four iconic attractions, the fort and the three watchtowers. The fort was built in 1825.

The town has a museum now and is still a quiet little farming town where only 60 families reside here with their main occupation being agriculture and farming. Unlike the other emirates, here, people still retort to more traditional means of making a living. Falaj Al Mualla is the site of the first poultry farm in the UAE.

3. Al Sinniyah Island

The Al Sinniyah Island among other islands lie east to the mainland of Umm al-Quwain. The island features dense mangroves with sandy beaches. The island is especially meant for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts since it hosts a wide variety of flora and fauna like the rare Socotra cormorants, flamingoes and seagulls.

4. Dreamland Aqua Park

Dreamland aqua park is the largest family waterpark in the region with an area of more than 250,000 square metres. It’s located on the picturesque coastline of Umm al-Quwain and its position makes it more accessible to tourists coming from the other Emirates.

Although it started out with only 25 water attractions, five more were added in September 2004 taking the park to hosting a total of 30 attractions. The waterpark also offers overnight camping packages with both cabanas and tents of choice.
